Happy Halloween 10/31/2008

Ian and I didn't dress up this year but Squirrel did! Here are some pictures of the little purple monkey.

Poor Squirrel 10/26/2008

I had to add more pictures of Squirrel for those folks who don't have Facebook... Poor Squirrel got spayed on Friday and has had a terrible weekend. After surgery she was on so many drugs she could barely walk. She looked like she was drunk falling down and stumbling everywhere. Her eyes were so glassy you couldn't tell what she was looking at and she was sleeping with one eye open - it was really creepy. I ended up sleeping on the couch with her just in case something happened. Then the next day she had the runs all day - Ewwww! She finally seems like she's getting back to normal today but is still very tired and weak.

OH-16: Boccieri (D) enjoys double-digit lead

Research 2000 for Daily Kos. 9/30-10/01. Likely voters. MoE  5%

Boccieri (D) 48 Schuring (R) 38

Wow. Boccieri leads among men and women, among all age brackets, and has a 13-point lead among independents to go with his comfortable edge among Democrats.

Boccieri far outstrips Obama's performance in OH-16 at the moment; Obama merits a three-point edge over McCain, 49% to 46%. Not that that's bad, not by a long shot; Bush won by nine points in 2000 and eight points in 2004.

Boccieri - a veteran of Iraq and Afghanistan, State Senator, and former semiprofessional baseball player - has proven to be a terrific candidate, and this lead appears to be for real; SurveyUSA has pegged the race as 49% for Boccieri, 41% for Schuring.

Driehaus' race is a pure tossup, but this one leans Boccieri's way.

Birthday Bikes

Ian and I got each other bikes for our birthdays. I had to special order mine and picked it up this past weekend in Ohio and Ian and I were able to get in a short bike ride before I left - which was another gift considering how close the election is and how busy Ian is.

The newest addition to the Walton Clan

No, it's not a baby... but she sure is cute! Ian got me another birthday present -  meet our dog, Squirrel. Ian named her and at first I wasn't so sure about it, but after getting her home, it really fits her personality. She's a squirrely little thing.  She's a Chinese Crested hairless dog - actually a hairy hairess, so as you can see she only has hair on her head, paws and tail. She must wear clothing to keep her warm and to protect her skin. She is 3 year old and super sweet.

I heart the New Kids...Still

My friend Danny took me to the NKOTB concert and it was so much fun! It was pretty funny to see that everyone was our age and still as crazy about them as they were in 8th grade. I wish I had taken pictures of the crowd because you would not believe how decked out some of these girls were in all New Kids gear - Crazy!
