I'm in the home stretch - only 3 1/2 more weeks to go! I'm still feeling good but it's definitely getting harder to get around and my pregnancy waddle is in full effect. I haven't had any cravings until the past couple of weeks and all I've wanted to eat are desserts - mainly cookies, ice cream and cupcakes. I would be lying if I said I wasn't ready for this pregnancy to be over. I'm just so excited to finally meet Lilian and to see what she looks like. I can't wait! I really think she's coming sooner than later :)
The last shower I had was thrown by my work friends. I had a wonderful book shower and received more than 60 books for Lilian's library! I am so grateful to have such fantastic co-workers who are always so supportive of me. Here is a picture of the shelves I put up in Lilian's room to display all her books. Ian and I have been busy these last couple of weeks with baby showers! We flew to Seattle to see our family and friends and to celebrate the impending arrival of Lilian. My lovely girlfriends Emily, Stacey and Melyssa threw me a fabulous nesting shower and my family had a big shower for Ian and I with all my favorite food (very important when you're 8 months pregnant!). Then back in DC over Labor Day weekend, our friends Daniel and Phuong had a fun baby BBQ for us. We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends and family who love and support us. I feel so blessed to be surrounded by so much happiness and joy. Thank you to everyone who came out to see us and celebrate this exciting time with us. We love you! Here are pictures of my nesting shower and the baby BBQ. Pictures from my family shower will soon follow. P.S. Yes, I wore the same dress to all my showers :) Nesting ShowerBaby BBQThe countdown is on! Only 10 more weeks to go. I've definitely gotten a lot bigger in the last 2 weeks and I'm starting to feel the effects of the extra weight. Everything takes a little longer to do and a little more effort than usual. I still hate to complain though, the occasional heartburn, leg cramps, sleepless nights and back aches are really not that bad. Some days are just better than others. This past weekend I drove up to Ohio to see Ian. It was a long drive but we had fun. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring the camera (I'm blaming it on the pregnancy brain) so I don't have any pictures. Next weekend we'll meet each other in Seattle for our baby shower. I'm so excited I can't hardly wait to finally be home again! We celebrated Squirrel's 5th Birthday last month. Can't believe we've had her for 2 years already. Time really does fly by! Only 13 weeks to go! The baby bump is getting bigger and bigger every day and Lilian is moving and grooving just like Ian used to at the clubs. And yes, baby Walton's first name will be Lilian :) Things have been going great, I've been feeling good and I'm excited to be starting my 3rd trimester. 24 weeks27 weeksWe bought the baby's crib last month and immediately stuck it in the room and shut the door. It seemed like such a daunting task to start organizing and getting the room together and much easier to just pretend like it wasn't there. This weekend, we, actually, Ian took the first step and put the crib together. The room will be a dual purpose room - nursery and guest room so figuring out how to fit a futon, crib and dresser in the room is challenging. Step 2: Stay tuned... this post is a little late, but last month grizzly turned 2. we celebrated by giving him a little doggie cupcake, which he loved. i'm also including a glamour shot of squirrel because she's just too cute and she knows it. I'm over halfway through the pregnancy - woo hoo! Baby Walton is moving like crazy. This morning was the first time I actually felt her kick on the outside of my stomach! Hopefully when Ian gets home this weekend she'll give him a big kick for Father's Day :) GIRL!Baby girl Walton looked great on the sonogram and all her measurements were right on target. We were able to see her scratching her head and move her arms around. It was unbelieveable! It was a little difficult determining her gender because she had her legs all scrunched up but they were pretty confident in saying she's a girl. In the 3D picture, her face is covered by my placenta and the little blob on the other side of her head is her hand. |
