30 weeks 08/17/2010
The countdown is on! Only 10 more weeks to go. I've definitely gotten a lot bigger in the last 2 weeks and I'm starting to feel the effects of the extra weight. Everything takes a little longer to do and a little more effort than usual. I still hate to complain though, the occasional heartburn, leg cramps, sleepless nights and back aches are really not that bad. Some days are just better than others. This past weekend I drove up to Ohio to see Ian. It was a long drive but we had fun. Unfortunately, I forgot to bring the camera (I'm blaming it on the pregnancy brain) so I don't have any pictures. Next weekend we'll meet each other in Seattle for our baby shower. I'm so excited I can't hardly wait to finally be home again! 1 Comment Happy Birthday Squirrel 08/17/2010
We celebrated Squirrel's 5th Birthday last month. Can't believe we've had her for 2 years already. Time really does fly by! Bump watch 07/28/2010
Only 13 weeks to go! The baby bump is getting bigger and bigger every day and Lilian is moving and grooving just like Ian used to at the clubs. And yes, baby Walton's first name will be Lilian :) Things have been going great, I've been feeling good and I'm excited to be starting my 3rd trimester. 24 weeks27 weeksNursery - Step 1: Assemble Crib 06/28/2010
We bought the baby's crib last month and immediately stuck it in the room and shut the door. It seemed like such a daunting task to start organizing and getting the room together and much easier to just pretend like it wasn't there. This weekend, we, actually, Ian took the first step and put the crib together. The room will be a dual purpose room - nursery and guest room so figuring out how to fit a futon, crib and dresser in the room is challenging. Step 2: Stay tuned... happy birthday, grizz! 06/28/2010
this post is a little late, but last month grizzly turned 2. we celebrated by giving him a little doggie cupcake, which he loved. i'm also including a glamour shot of squirrel because she's just too cute and she knows it. week 21 06/16/2010
I'm over halfway through the pregnancy - woo hoo! Baby Walton is moving like crazy. This morning was the first time I actually felt her kick on the outside of my stomach! Hopefully when Ian gets home this weekend she'll give him a big kick for Father's Day :) IT'S A... 06/02/2010
GIRL!Baby girl Walton looked great on the sonogram and all her measurements were right on target. We were able to see her scratching her head and move her arms around. It was unbelieveable! It was a little difficult determining her gender because she had her legs all scrunched up but they were pretty confident in saying she's a girl. In the 3D picture, her face is covered by my placenta and the little blob on the other side of her head is her hand. Baby stuff 05/28/2010
Ok. I've been putting this off for some time but I guess it's time to start talking baby. Since I haven't posted anything on the pregnancy yet and we'll be finding out the sex of the baby in a few days, I figured it was time to catch everyone up on all the pregnancy happenings. I was very lucky and got through the first trimester with no morning sickness and other than sleeping a lot and being hungry all the time, the first three months were a breeze. My only complaint is that it seemed like it lasted forever. Now, in my second trimester (18 weeks, 3 days to be exact) I don't really have any complaints. My baby bump began to show during week 17 and I'm definitely feeling more pregnant. We find out the sex of the baby on Tuesday and EVERYONE, including Ian, thinks we're having a girl. I am hoping for a boy. I had a dream where I gave birth to a girl but then it turned out that there was another baby that popped out and it was a boy. So who knows what that means! I guess we'll know soon enough... Week 7 SonogramWeek 12 heartbeatWeek 16 Baby BumpWeek 18 Baby BumpShuttle launch and Daytona Beach 05/14/2010
For those of you who don't know, Ian moved back to Ohio again to run the Congressional campaign for his boss. He had a work retreat in Florida so I decided to meet him there for a quick weekend getaway. We were able to see the last shuttle launch of Atlantis, which was way cooler than I had ever expected and spent the next day soaking the sun on Daytona Beach. Barcelona 03/26/2010
These pictures are long overdue! Sorry it's taken so long to get these up, but we took over 1000 photos on this trip so going through all of them seemed like a pretty daunting task. Here are only a few of the ones from Barcelona. We had such a wonderful time. Barcelona is a cool city with lots to do, rich in culture yet super modern. The first day we were there, we met my sister and her friends for a typical Spanish lunch of paella and sangria by the water. Later that evening, Ian and I went to a Barca soccer game where they won 2-1. The next couple of days we spent visiting as many of architect and genius, Antioni Gaudi's masterpieces including the Sagrada Familia, an unbelievable church with such intricate details; Casa Mila with it's cool rooftop chimneys; Casa Batlo, which was Ian's favorite and reminded me of something that came out of a Tim Burton film; and last but not least, the whimsical Park Guell with its gorgeous views of the entire city. The rest of the time was spent walking around and enjoying the city. It was a very short trip, only 3 days and then we were off to Roma!
