Baby stuff 05/28/2010
Ok. I've been putting this off for some time but I guess it's time to start talking baby. Since I haven't posted anything on the pregnancy yet and we'll be finding out the sex of the baby in a few days, I figured it was time to catch everyone up on all the pregnancy happenings. I was very lucky and got through the first trimester with no morning sickness and other than sleeping a lot and being hungry all the time, the first three months were a breeze. My only complaint is that it seemed like it lasted forever. Now, in my second trimester (18 weeks, 3 days to be exact) I don't really have any complaints. My baby bump began to show during week 17 and I'm definitely feeling more pregnant. We find out the sex of the baby on Tuesday and EVERYONE, including Ian, thinks we're having a girl. I am hoping for a boy. I had a dream where I gave birth to a girl but then it turned out that there was another baby that popped out and it was a boy. So who knows what that means! I guess we'll know soon enough... Week 7 SonogramWeek 12 heartbeatWeek 16 Baby BumpWeek 18 Baby BumpAdd Comment Shuttle launch and Daytona Beach 05/14/2010
For those of you who don't know, Ian moved back to Ohio again to run the Congressional campaign for his boss. He had a work retreat in Florida so I decided to meet him there for a quick weekend getaway. We were able to see the last shuttle launch of Atlantis, which was way cooler than I had ever expected and spent the next day soaking the sun on Daytona Beach. Barcelona 03/26/2010
These pictures are long overdue! Sorry it's taken so long to get these up, but we took over 1000 photos on this trip so going through all of them seemed like a pretty daunting task. Here are only a few of the ones from Barcelona. We had such a wonderful time. Barcelona is a cool city with lots to do, rich in culture yet super modern. The first day we were there, we met my sister and her friends for a typical Spanish lunch of paella and sangria by the water. Later that evening, Ian and I went to a Barca soccer game where they won 2-1. The next couple of days we spent visiting as many of architect and genius, Antioni Gaudi's masterpieces including the Sagrada Familia, an unbelievable church with such intricate details; Casa Mila with it's cool rooftop chimneys; Casa Batlo, which was Ian's favorite and reminded me of something that came out of a Tim Burton film; and last but not least, the whimsical Park Guell with its gorgeous views of the entire city. The rest of the time was spent walking around and enjoying the city. It was a very short trip, only 3 days and then we were off to Roma! (Pictures will soon follow, hopefully) another snow day 02/11/2010
at the request of our family on the west coast here are more pictures of snowpocalypse. Yesterday morningTodayto be continued... 02/10/2010
Yes, it's true. We got hit with another snowy storm last night and it's still going strong. It's incredible the amount of snow that is on the ground. I have not been to my office since last Thursday. Our street had not been plowed since the first storm hit, 6 days ago and today, they've already plowed it 3 times. It's craziness out there and I must say this storm seem much worse because it's so much more windy. Ian happened to get us a new camera the night the first storm started so we've been taking a ton of pictures trying to figure it out. Here are some that have been taken over the last few days while we've been stuck indoors. The sun is out! 02/07/2010
After being stuck inside for the last couple of days, Ian and I decided to suit up and head outside for a walk. We ended up meeting our friends in Chinatown and got some fun shots along the way. Snowed in - 2010 Blizzard 02/06/2010
Here are some pictures of the winter storm that hit us this weekend. We got at least 2 feet of snow! It's definitely the most snow that has fallen since I moved here. It made for a lazy weekend full of watching tv, movies and ian playing video games. DC Glassworks 01/20/2010
Last weekend, Ian and I went to an open house at DC Glassworks where I got the chance to make my very own paper weight. It was so cool! The hardest part was remembering to keep turning the melted glass so it wouldn't become lopsided. I don't have a picture of the finish product because we haven't gone back to pick it up but I'm sure it's a work of art ;) Merry Christmas - part II 12/26/2009
Here a few pics of us on Christmas morning opening presents. And who got the most presents this year.... the dogs, of course! Merry Christmas 12/25/2009
Ian and I had a wonderful Christmas this year in DC. It was so nice to be able to stay home and not deal with all the hustle and bustle of travelling. Our friends Bethany and Phillip came to town on Christmas Eve and we had the most delicious dinner at Wolfgang Puck's The Source. Since it was Christmas Eve, there was no menu and to our surprise, the chef was cooking whatever he felt like cooking (with consideration to any food restrictions). It was incredible! We had a total of 16 different dishes, including 4 of the best desserts ever. After dinner we made some hot toddies and headed over to see the National Christmas tree and the Capitol tree. |
